What makes a person the most powerful on the planet? Being President?

Was McKinley the world’s most powerful man when Czolgosz killed him? Was Kennedy the most powerful man on the planet when Oswald killed him?

Presidents have resources, but they’re obviously not all powerful. A determined individual using violence, or a group of determined individuals using subterfuge can thwart a President’s plans and ambitions.

Donald Trump has stayed within legal bounds, and in doing so has allowed Jeff Sessions to cripple him so completely I wonder if perhaps Mr. Sessions himself is part of the cabal acting against the President.
