We could finally use the NSA for something undoubtedly good.
The screen involves two conditions:
- Excessive first person shooter video game use
- Posting kill threats on the web
All of the people I listed did both, not just one, both; all spent many hours daily playing first person shooter video games and all posted their intentions to become mass killers.
Roughly how many people do you think post “I’m going to be a school shooter” or “My goal is to kill as many as possible, before they get me” on social media? I’ll be surprised if it’s more than a few thousand people in the US. Take the nexus of that group and fanatic first person shooter video gamers and you’re probably down to hundreds — a number we could handle, a number we could investigate to ascertain whether they’ve got weapons and might actually carry out their plans or threats.
The NSA has almost endless computing power. This is an easy task for them. All we lack is a law allowing us to confiscate weapons from people who meet this criteria, and treat them medically, forcibly if necessary.
