The Authoritarian Within…
I’m aware someone calling him or herself Jane Doe posted a comment here, claiming I’m a Russian bot. I know because another Medium member thoughtfully let me know. Otherwise, I’d be in the dark, because Jane Doe blocked me, so I can’t see him or her or what he or she wrote.
The fact that it’s possible for someone to post comments under a Medium story, and hide the existence of the comments and the name of the commenter from the author is a serious flaw within Medium’s system.
I confirm he or she told Facebook I am abusive, so they deleted my account without checking my home page, which far from being abusive, was empty, because I only used Facebook for online events.
I believe he or she then tried to use the fact that she’d caused Facebook to delete my account to induce Medium to delete my Medium account; a la the FBI’s using a Yahoo article leaked by Christopher Steele to confirm Steele’s original dossier.
Fascists may not be wise, but they can be clever. Fortunately, Medium knows who I am, and so far I’m still here.
However, Mr/Ms Doe’s actions are a wonderful example at an incredibly opportune time of something I wrote about yesterday and posted today — authoritarianism:
Beyond the intolerance shown by Mr/Ms Doe’s actions, we can also tell he or she lacks couth, because, although I did two years in Russia, if Penseur Rodinson were a bot, il est évident qu’il serait français! Mon Dieu!
